Collagen Peptides
What are Collagen Peptides? Is it the same as Gelatin?
Collagen is protein that forms connective tissue. It is the “glue” that holds us together so to speak. There are at least 16 different types of Collagen throughout the human body. Collagen is made within the body but slows down with age, smoking, UV rays and other issues, such as depletion of essential minerals from our soils and thus our ability to assimilate these nutrients/minerals.
Without the necessary Vitamins, amino acids and minerals, we cannot effectively or efficiently make Collagen. It is important for connective tissue, skin, bones, tendons, and muscles (just to name a few things). Collagen is even used to protect delicate organs such as the kidneys! Given all of this, then one would think it would be fairly easy to maintain and assimilate this important fibrous protein.
Unfortunately, it is not in 2018. The destruction of our earth has left the soil depleted of what we need.
We can however; do some things to assist the earth and our body.
*Grow as much of your own food as possible, using and making nutrient rich soil! (compost, earthworms, crop rotation with organic/non gmo seeds just a few examples of dozens)
*Buy as much grass fed, organic, free from animal meat as possible. (if your a meat eater)
*Eat wild game whenever possible
*Make and eat homemade bone broth as much as possible
*Eliminate sugar, soy, corn, gluten and dairy for a period of time to allow the body to heal. These are known as the top allergens that lead to inflammation in the body. Inflammation leads to chronic issues within the body and can lead to a breakdown at a molecular and cellular level. this in time can be a precursor to disease. By doing this, the body can begin to repair itself and thus the assimilation of nutrients and minerals improves.
*Improve your uptake and assimilation thru the use of essential trace minerals and tissue salts. (with a negative ionic charge )Top 12 Melange formula is a great start.
*Increase your uptake by using Collagen Peptides and Gelatin (grassfed -free from pesticides/herbicides and free from antibiotics and hormones)
What do you expect to see if you take this?
*improve skin health (major component of your skin so therefore you will most likely see the improvements here first)=more hydrated skin, less wrinkles, firmer skin
*improves joint pain (helps integrity of joint)
*Prevent bone loss (large % of bones are made up of collagen)
*Boost muscle growth (synthesis of muscle proteins such as creatine) (no it won’t pump you up..it will lean out the fat %)
*Helps your heart (strengthens the arteries to your heart)
*increases good cholesterol -HDL
*helps hair and nails
*helps brain heath-mood and anxiety
*gut health- assists in healing poor gut heath and preventing further damage
*improves digestion
*balance blood sugar-gelatin
*just to name a few!
Collagen Peptides- made up of the short chain amino acids-protein we spoke about above, however thru a process called hydrolysis the amino acids are cut into smaller pieces. Due to this they do not gel like Gelatin. they are water soluble–meaning they dissolve very easily in water, coffee, tea, soup, cereal, baked goods, smoothies etc. Has been shown to be absorbed easier.
Gelatin-made up of the long chain amino acids -protein spoken about above. It has the ability to gel (think jello-it was the original jello) together and can be used in anything that requires binding qualities. It is not water soluble but can be used to make jello, gummies, gravies, soup. Can be more difficult to digest for some.
Finally remember ….moderation is key
